A1Who we are

This website, beyondfin.tech, is operated by Beyond Finance Co., Limited (財超管理咨詢有限公司), a private company limited by shares incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under company number 79045285, with its registered office at Room 701, Unit 108, 7/F, Tower B, New Mandarin Plaza, 14 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company. We are the data user in respect of the personal data described below, within the meaning of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong (the “PDPO”).

A2What this site collects

This website is served as static files. It contains no contact form, no login, no payment function, no cookies, no analytics or measurement tools, no advertising or tracking pixels, and no scripts, fonts or images loaded from any third-party server. Three things are nevertheless worth stating plainly.

• Language preference. When you switch between English and Chinese, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key bf-lang. It never leaves your device, is not sent to us, and is not personal data. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
• Server access logs. Like any web server, ours records each request. Each log entry contains your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the HTTP status and size of the response, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string. An IP address may constitute personal data in some circumstances. We do not combine these logs with any other data and do not use them to build a profile of you.
• Email you send us. The contact details on this site are ordinary email addresses. If you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that message. See A6.

A3Why we keep it

Access logs are kept only to operate the site securely and reliably: diagnosing faults, understanding load, and identifying abuse such as scanning, brute-force attempts or denial-of-service traffic. They are not used for marketing, profiling, or any form of behavioural analysis, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them.

A4How long we keep it

Access logs rotate daily and are retained for 14 days, after which they are deleted automatically. We keep no separate long-term copy of them. Email correspondence is retained for as long as is necessary to deal with the matter it concerns and to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations in Hong Kong, and is then deleted.

A5Where it is stored

This website and its logs are hosted on a virtual server located in the United States, provided by a commercial cloud infrastructure provider acting on our instructions. If you access this site from Hong Kong, the Mainland, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your request and the resulting log entry are therefore processed on servers outside your own jurisdiction.

Transport between your browser and our server is encrypted using TLS. Our infrastructure provider has access to the underlying machine as a matter of technical necessity, but is not permitted to use anything on it for its own purposes.

A6If you email us

When you write to contact@beyondfin.tech, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever else you include. We use it to reply to you, to assess and scope any engagement you are proposing, and to keep a record of our dealings with you. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not use your address for anything unrelated to your enquiry without asking you first.

Please do not send confidential, price-sensitive or commercially privileged information by ordinary email before we have agreed how to handle it. If a matter requires confidentiality, tell us and we will put a non-disclosure agreement in place first.

A7Disclosure to others

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise make personal data available to third parties for their own purposes. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies, because we do not work with any. Personal data may be disclosed only in these circumstances:

• to our hosting and email service providers, strictly as necessary for them to provide those services to us, and only on our instructions;
• to our professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, where they need it to advise us;
• where we are required to do so by law, by a court order, or by a lawful request from a regulator or law enforcement authority with jurisdiction over us.

A8Your rights

Under the PDPO you have the right to ask us whether we hold personal data about you, to be supplied with a copy of that data, and to require correction of it if it is inaccurate. Send a data access or correction request to contact@beyondfin.tech, or in writing to our registered office. We will respond within 40 days as the PDPO requires. We may charge a reasonable fee for complying with a data access request, as the PDPO permits.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and their data protection law applies to your visit, you may additionally have rights of erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and a right to complain to your national supervisory authority. Write to the same address and we will deal with your request on that basis. Because we hold so little — in most cases nothing beyond a 14-day server log — we may need you to supply the date, approximate time and IP address of your visit before we can locate any record at all.

A9Children

This website addresses businesses and professional investors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.

A10Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles data — for example by adding a contact form or a measurement tool — we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top before the change takes effect. We do not maintain a mailing list, so please check this page if it matters to you.

B1Information only, not advice

Everything on this website is provided for general information about our firm and our services. It is not professional, legal, accounting, tax, financial or investment advice, and it is not an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell any security or other financial product.

Descriptions of our practices, service standards, indicative timeframes and engagement models are illustrative. They describe how we typically work, not a guarantee of any particular outcome, price or delivery date. What we actually owe you in any given matter is set out in the signed engagement letter or service agreement for that matter, and nothing on this website adds to, varies or overrides it.

B2No client relationship

Visiting this website, or sending us an unsolicited email, does not create a client, advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and us. No such relationship arises until we have agreed a scope in writing, completed any onboarding checks we consider necessary, and both parties have signed an engagement letter or service agreement.

We may decline any enquiry, and we may be unable to act where doing so would create a conflict of interest with an existing client.

B3Intellectual property

The text, layout, design, logo and other original material on this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own reference or internal business use. You may not reproduce this material commercially, republish it as your own, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation, without our written consent.

Names of third-party products, tools and organisations referred to on this website remain the property of their respective owners. Their mention describes what we work with; it does not imply any partnership, certification, sponsorship or endorsement by them unless we say so explicitly.

B4Availability and accuracy

We try to keep this website accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current at any given moment. Content may be updated or withdrawn at any time without notice. We may suspend or discontinue the site, in whole or in part, at our discretion.

B5Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Hong Kong law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website, including any indirect, consequential or economic loss, loss of profit, or loss of business opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

B7Governing law

This policy and these terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in force.
